wish to have kids...

Hi, im a 28 year old lady married to a wonderful man. It has been 3 years since we got married. i wish to have kids of my own as his younger sister is married and has kids. im very happy for them and i love their children so much but i wish i had my own. my husband love kids so much and it really hurts when he plays with and hugs his sister's children. i did all the tests and the doctors told me that nothing is wrong with either of us. im really scared to do the IVF test as i dont know if its a 100% or at least 80% it will work out. please help me..

my first IUI

Hi, I'm from NJ. I'm 27 yrs old. No kids so far. I discovered have PCOS when i was 16 yrs old.

My doctor did a serious of test: hsg, mri of the pituitary gland and blood work. Then he prescribed me clomid 50mg. i took 2 pills every day for 5 days. Then, 4 days after i was done with the clomid (12 day of my cycle) he did blood work and an ultrasound, but i wasn't ready.

2 days later, he repeated the blood work and ultrasound and then finally i was ready! next day (15 day of my cycle) i put a novarel shot to help me ovulate. the next 2 consecutive days after the shot, the doctor performed the IUI. He put in the sperm, i had to lay down and keep quiet for 15 minutes and then i will continue to my normal day.

it has been 4 days after the last IUI and I've been feeling a lot of cramps. I have to go in 2 days to get an ultrasound and blood work.

It's a GIRL

I just had my 18wk ultrasound & it's a girl. My husband was hoping for a boy since there is already my daughter, but we are certainly blessed. Everything is perfect & we can't wait to hold her & love her to pieces!!!

I want to share my success with all of you in the hope of giving you the opportunity to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we're so caught up in ourselves that we forget to look up & look to those around us. We think that there isn't life after not being successful at bearing children!?

I know I thought I was a failure, less than a women & that my husband would resent me. The truth was, my husband loved me more for trying after he saw everything I was going through. He was touched it meant that much to me to give him children of his own. He had long come to terms with the fact that we may not be able to have children, but I wouldn't settle for anything less than children of our own. Never in my life had I not had control of a situation & be able to effect the outcome or get the desired results.

Having children is just one of natures mysteries & no matter how we think we can change or effect this fact...we can't!? As frustrating & heartbreaking as that was...I had to learn that before we could go forward.

Remember, there is more to life!! Value yourselves, take care of yourself, spend time with friends & family. Your not alone & once you look around you may be suprised

There is always hope

I was looking up facts on IVF on the web and found this site. I have a very inspirational story to share.

Three months after my husband and I started trying to conceive we found out that we were pregnant. Two weeks later we lost that baby. After about three months we started to try again, we tried, and tried, and tried. After over a year of trying we went back to see the doctor. I was basically going for him to confirm that everything was fine and it just takes longer for some than others.

Unfortunately this was not the case. At this appointment we found out that my husband had zero sperm. He has three more tests, none as bad as that, but none had any more than a million. Being the dreamers that we were we decided to do an IUI without hormones. At the time it was the only thing we could afford and we had to feel like we were doing something to help the situation.

I went in after I ovulated and he gave his "sample" The nurse then came in and told me not to take my pants off, the doctor was going to come in shortly to talk to us (never a good thing) The doctor came in and said that they only found half a million sperm. she said that she could do the procedure, however there was a zero percent chance that it will take. I was there, they had the sperm, what could it hurt. I left the doctors office with no follow up instructions.

Three weeks later I got a positive pregnancy and had a health baby girl that September.

I believe that sometimes you just have to follow your heart. If I would have listened to the advice of the doctors, just think what I would have missed out on.

Excited and Scared

I am a healthy 30 yr. old, and have been TTC for almost 2 years.

I had 3 cycles on Clomid only, then 2 cycles of Clomid & IUI, then 3 cycles of Follistem/Ovidrel shots and IUI. Nothing. I am currently going through my 1st round of IVF. I just had 3 embryos implanted today. I am so excited, but at the same time I am scared to be excited for fear of disappointment.

Reading about others' experiences makes me feel better and not so alone. Just like I heard one of you mention, it can be frustrating when all my friends seem to be able to get pregnant exactly when they want to. Of course I am excited for them, but I want to join them in their happiness. I am so lucky though, b/c my insurance is covering up to 4 rounds of IVF.

My heart goes out to those of you having to find the finances. Who needs that kind of additional stress? Hang in there and hopefully in 2 weeks I will be posting my success story!
