Infertility

Even though infertility affects at least 10% of the population, most couples feel as though they are the only ones struggling through it. Help give some reassurance to those encountering fertility problems by talking about your experience. Did you turn to in vitro fertilization or some other form of infertility treatment? Were alternative or natural fertility treatments useful for you? We want to hear your encouraging anecdotes about infertility and fertility treatments.

You not alone

Hi
My name if Faith, this is for Mary. Mary you are not alone. I've beem married for 8 years now and we've been trying from day one. For along time the doctors said it was unexplained infertility and then about 6 years down the line they find out i had a fibroid, mu left fallo tube was damaged and my right was blocked. They removed the fibroid and left tube during a laproscope procedure. The doctors says the best way for me to get pregnant would probably be IVF.

The pain of not conceiving is suffocating and it takes over your whole being, it make you feel useless as a woman especially when other woman are having children and killing them like flies. You start to doubt yourself worth. But don't forget God is there he is watching and one day he will answer.

I pray Mary that God answers our prayers this year. I pray that by the end of this year we fall pregnant. I'm a black woman in AFrica and our culture does not understand infertiliy.

empty cradle

i am from africa and live in africa. ive been married for 3yrs my lovely hubby is 31 and am 28. ive been trying to get pregnant for 3yrs. its the most difficult thing ever. i have suceeded in doing everyother thing in my life i just dont get why dis is happening to me. i woke up with tears in my eyes dis morning.... i kept weeping and asking God why me? i suffer from extreme menstral cramps. the terrible thing is dt medical help is limited here in africa. sometimes i becomes soooo depressed and i want 2 have a baby straight away. pple see me and feel sorry for me, all my friends have beautiful babies pple older than me are getting pregnant easily and i have to smile and act like my life isnt empty.
i keep wondering when i am going to be callled a mother. i have a very supportive hubby and sometimes it jst kills me dt i have not given him a baby cos he has been so caring and understanding (which is rare in african men, when it comes 2 infertility). the other day i asked my hubby 'has God forgotten me?' why has he not answered my prayers.?
sometimes i just feel like running far far away where i can cry all day. no one understands how i feel, i feel unfulfilled, i feel victimized, i feel like an outcast, i am slowing going insane. somedays are good and somedays are bad. i pray that God answers all our prayers. thank u all for sharing your stories.

Don't give up hope

This is to Jess Aillen, I too had many miscarriages before I had my daughter. 6 to be exact! and I was 26 years old when I had my daughter. It took me my 6th miscarriage and loss of hope really, before I got pregnant. I stoped having intercorse with my husband, becuase I felt there was no point to it. And one day after 7 long months of not having sex we did the did, That day was the day that changed our life. It was then that I got pregnant! So please don't give up hope. Start takeing your vitamins now and then get health and checked by your doctor before you try and get prenant, Let the semen build up a little 3 months of no sex and then give it a shot, Maybe your husband has a low sperm count.

IVF 4 times

I am 45 years old. I have tried IVF 4 times. Can't afford any more tries, going to give embryo adoption a try. Has anyone had more than 4 IVF's and gotten pregnant? Has anyone done embryo adoption?
