Infertility

Even though infertility affects at least 10% of the population, most couples feel as though they are the only ones struggling through it. Help give some reassurance to those encountering fertility problems by talking about your experience. Did you turn to in vitro fertilization or some other form of infertility treatment? Were alternative or natural fertility treatments useful for you? We want to hear your encouraging anecdotes about infertility and fertility treatments.

Positive focus, but keep praying

My husband (31) and I (35) have been trying for 14 months with no success. At 6 months of trying he went to an urologist who said he had slow motility. My tests showed no concern in terms of the uterus lining and follicle (egg) amount. We then were referred by a friend to a specialist in NJ. We were treated wonderfully!

The staff was friendly, financing advisor was thorough and didn't make us feel odd, and the doctor was just very informative and spent lots of time with us. He said my uterus was 'good looking' lol. He told us IUI was the solution.....BUT, After many further tests we found out that my husband had abnormal morphology and antisperm bodies. The motility was not quite the major concern.

Now our only chances are IVF with ICSI, I am trying to stay positive, but this is devastating news. Luckily, my company will pay 80% of costs...but that is still $4k per treatment! I am an adoptee, my husband is an identical twin. As an adoptee, I have never seen anyone biological to me, and now that I found my perfect mate - I just wish for this to happen.

weird pregnancies

My tubes were tied in the year 2001. Four years after my tubal ligation I became pregnant. It was a tubal pregnancy and my left tube was removed, so at that time the Dr. re-did tubal surgery again on my right tube.

For some reason 9 months after surgery I became pregnant again. It was a 9 week pregnancy. The Dr. said this time was on the right place. Suddenly a week after my Dr. check up I had a miscarriage.

Now I'm afraid of becoming pregnant for 3rd time.

baby rohbyn

I found out I was expecting on the 18th November 06. Every thing was going well. I had told everyone I was expecting. I had to wait a long time for a scan as the midwife thought I was only 5 weeks pregnant.

They were very wrong. By the time I had my scan I was 14 weeks. My baby had died at 12. All I was told was that there was no heartbeat.

I had a d & c a week after on the 15th December. Me and my partner have been trying again for 3 months with no joy so far.

Worried

I’m on my second marriage. I have 2 children from a previous marriage. Never thought about meeting Mr. Right ever again so my tubes were tied. I did meet Mr. Right and we were married on May 28, 05 and he has no children.

We went through the IVF process the week of 14 Feb 2007. We ended up with 5 embryos and 2 were transferred on the 17th. I went outside of Dr. orders and bought a home pregnancy test which was negative on yesterday 2/23/07.

Now I’m worried that the 2 embryos are not there.

Sticking it out!

I am 29 years old soon to hit the big 30! Me and my husband have been trying for 3 years to get pregnant without any luck. We just came back today from the fertility clinic and have been advised after many tests that we were going to start our first try with IUI.

Please wish us luck!

I need all the prayers I can get!
