pregw2Just found out yesterday that I am pregnant with twins. i am 9 weeks. Twins are in our family. My mother has a twin brother. I have been even more sick this pregnancy. amanda am i, arnt i?ive just found out im pregnant, and the story starts a few months b 4 my first pregnancy with my son. at my place of work an african security guard stated i wud b pregnant with in the year, i said no way! not gonna happen, he said yes a boy born in august. sure enough a few month later found indeed i was expectin! he said, i told u boy, august! at the scan i found he was rite, he then stated next u have twins 1 boy 1 girl with in 2 years and i come 2 ur wedding and drink fine wine and wear big african head dress. i laughed but to my amazement my partner proposed and ive now found out im pregnant again. and im certain it's true. my grandfather's a twin and my cousin is 12wk pregnant wiv twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! becci oldham. My TwinsIt was my first pregnancy and I was a bit apprehensive of what lay ahead...so when I started to bleed at 3 months I really thought it was a miscarriage, but to my delight, I was told I was having twins!!! I didn't really have time to feel shocked as I was so happy that I wasn't miscarrying. So the time dragged out and eventually when I was 38 weeks gone, I was taken into hospital and 'started' with some gel. It was about 11am when they started me. They said it could be a while so to just walk about. So me and my partner walked around the hospital for a while, and the pressure on my bladder was unreal! I had to stop in every toilet I passed, but obviously didn't have to go!!! It was so weird, it wasn't sore, just a lot of pressure. I started to get contractions (although I didn't know they were as they weren't as painful as I thought they'd be), so one of the girls in the same ward told my partner that I was having contractions and to call a doc. So they sent me for a bath, said it might bring on the labour more quickly. It was about 3.30 when I went into the bath. I was taking the 'gas and air' at this stage, and it was great!! I'd really recommend it, although I think it did make me forget some of what was happening. So shortly after I went into the bath, a midwife checked me and I was 10cm dilated! She said I could have given birth in the bath, but because it was twins they needed to monitor the second baby while the first was being delivered. So that was it, into the delivery room, two nurses, two docs, two midwives, a student doc, my ma and my partner. Soon after Ma had to leave because the first baby was ready to be born! She was born at 4:53, and five minutes later her sister was born!!! I couldn't believe it!!! All the horror stories I had been told and it was all over in so little time!! The girls were 5lb 4oz and 5lb 12oz. They were in an incubator for a couple of hours just to give them a kick-start! But were fine ever since. So anyone who is pregnant with twins and worrying about the birth, just remember, it might not be that bad. I couldn't believe what an easy time I had! I am now pregnant with my third child, the twins are 4 and so excited! I am due in May and am carrying just the one this time!!!! Twin Mother to 4 yr old girls I knew I was pregnant with twinsWhen my temp did not go down the day b4 af I knew I had to be pregnant. My mom had a dream about a baby. I took the test and it was positive. Only a week and a half later did I just know I was carring twins. I had dreams and after another week and a half I went to the er, and sure nuff I was pregnant with twins.Tiffany Michelle Taylor Double Trouble? If you would have told us 5 years ago that we would be pregnant moms at the same time, we both would have probably had a good laugh and said, “That would never happen.” Well, over the years, we’ve learned to never… say never.Patty and I are the kind of twins that talk to each other once a day and share our ups and downs about everything. We are identical twins, we are both professional performing singers, and today we are both pregnant with our second child. Our first two, Eli and Emma, are now toddlers and they are only three-months apparent in age. Our newborns-to-be are expected to arrive only a few months apparent as well. Being pregnant at the same time has been so much fun, and being twins definitely has its advantages… like sharing maternity clothes and being able to pass down all the wonderful baby things that hardly get used like bouncy chairs, 0-3 month onesies, and shoes. Almost every week is a milestone for one of us; whether it’s morning sickness woes or the shear amazement that this time around we are both having boys. Patty and I grew up in South Florida. Every since we can remember, and even before than – so our Mother claims - we’ve been singing. Whether it was “Ten little Indians” at our Kindergarten recital or “Ocean”, an original song that we wrote and performed at the Roxy in Los Angeles many years later, we’ve been on stage enjoying the same passion of music our whole lives. We definitely have many things in common, besides the obvious… eyes, nose, mouth, and mirror reflection, and yet, we are both very much different individuals. We have never fallen head-over-heels for the same guy (which is probably a good thing), we studied completely different subjects in college (One a Computer Science major and the other Musical Theater). After high school we spent many years traveling, singing and living in different cities across the United States including Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta growing into the women that we are today. Now, being a mom has brought us back to that familiar place in our hearts where we connect … identically. Almost once a week, we look at each other and just say “Wow! We’re moms.” We feel extremely lucky to be sharing this motherhood journey together and hopefully our kids will always enjoy the same closeness that we share.
