reply to "late starter"Don't be concerned about not feeling sick. Some women are lucky that way!!! There's also a theory that women tend to be sicker when carrying girls than boys (I think it has something to do with the extra estrogen in girl babies), so this might just be a difference in gender between the babies. You would have more cause for concern if you had nausea already and suddenly didn't feel sick anymore, especially before the 2nd trimester starts. I did have a friend who's nausea suddenly disappeared in the 1st trimester (it didn't taper off - just stopped) and it was the start of a miscarriage for her. I had very little nausea during my pregnancy (I had a boy), but I know what you mean about worrying about that. Even though no one would wish for nausea, you think if you don't have it, it's a bad thing. I swear I used to wish I felt more pregnant (and sick) than I did because I thought it was a sign of a problem. No problem though.....he's a healthy almost 4-year old now. Also, by the time my second trimester started I finally felt pregnant enough to relax, so other symptoms will eventually set it for you too. It is possible, being only 7 weeks along, that nausea is still to come, but for now, try to enjoy not having it! :-) Buffi R. Late StarterWhat a wonderful site, this is a great help to first timers like me. I'm 38 years old and my partner and I got pregnant last November, but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks and had to have a D&C. We've been trying since and I am now 7 weeks pregnant after a few months of trying. I'm so scared of miscarrying again. I've had slight pains in my abdomen and thought that it was something to worry about, but having read some of the stories on this site, it seems to be normal. This is our first baby and we are getting married this September so we are both praying that everything will go right this time. I'm so incredibly excited and can't wait to start showing. I haven't been sick at all yet, so is this something to worry about or is it too early, with my last pregnancy I felt sick all the time! Thank you to all the ladies for sharing their stories, it's a huge help and comfort. Good luck to you all. Anita x Anita Price CrampsThis is my second pregnancy and I'm about 6 weeks along. Just wanted to let you guys know that cramps are normal in first trimester, as long as they are not extremely painful. I also had a miscarriage and when I was pregnant with my son, who is now 4, I was a nervous wreck just knowing that I was going to miscarry again at any moment. Now, that I'm pregnant with my second child, I notice the cramps but do not obsess over them. Good Luck to all of you!Candace in Texas First trimester and crampingI just confirmed that I am pregnant and I have been cramping for a couple of weeks now. Is this normal? This is my first preganancy, so I don't know what to expect and I am a little nervous as I am also 42 years old.Debbie To "cramping in first trimesterPlease, please, please go see your doctor. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and a D&C, after which we were told to wait no less than two menstrual cycles before trying again. The fact that you've gotten pregnant again only 2 weeks after your D&C is very worrisome. The cramps you're experiencing could be signs of another miscarriage. Or even worse problems, since it takes a few weeks for the reproductive system to get working right again after a D&C. Please don't risk it - see your doctor.
